At Giorgi Safaris, we understand that travel plans can change. This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the terms that apply to all bookings and reflects the commitments we make to our accommodation, transport, airline, and other travel service providers.

1. Client-Initiated Cancellations

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. Cancellation charges are calculated based on the date we receive the written cancellation notice.

  • More than 30 days before travel: Any deposit paid may be partially or fully retained to cover administrative expenses and non-refundable supplier charges already incurred.
  • Between 15 and 30 days before travel: 50% of the total safari cost will be charged.
  • Between 7 and 14 days before travel: 75% of the total safari cost will be charged.
  • Less than 7 days before travel, or in the event of a no-show: 100% of the total safari cost will be charged.

2. Non-Refundable Services

Certain services may be non-refundable regardless of the cancellation date due to supplier policies. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • National park and conservancy fees
  • Domestic and international flight tickets
  • Visa fees and government charges
  • Special permits and activity fees
  • Accommodation, camps, and lodges subject to strict supplier cancellation terms

Where supplier-specific cancellation terms apply, those terms shall take precedence.

3. Company-Initiated Cancellations

In the unlikely event that Giorgi Safaris must cancel a safari due to circumstances within our control, clients will be offered either:

  • A full refund of amounts paid to Giorgi Safaris; or
  • The option to reschedule their safari at no additional cost, subject to availability.

4. Force Majeure

Giorgi Safaris shall not be liable for cancellations, delays, itinerary changes, loss, damage, or additional expenses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Severe weather conditions
  • Floods, droughts, or wildfires
  • Government actions or travel restrictions
  • Civil unrest, riots, or political instability
  • Strikes or industrial disputes
  • Epidemics, pandemics, or public health emergencies
  • Airline disruptions or transportation failures
  • Any other force majeure event

In such circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to offer alternative arrangements where possible; however, refunds will be subject to the policies of the affected suppliers.

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14–30 working days, depending on banking procedures and supplier processing timelines.

Refunds will be made using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover:

  • Trip cancellations
  • Medical emergencies
  • Personal accidents
  • Lost or delayed baggage
  • Travel delays and interruptions
  • Other unforeseen circumstances

Travel insurance provides valuable protection against costs that may not be recoverable under this policy.
